Ahead of the premiere of Super Pumped: The Battle of Uber, Quentin Tarantino is announced as the narrator for the anthology series on Showtime.
Ahead of the premiere of Showtime’s Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber, Quentin Tarantino has been revealed to narrate the series. Based on Mike Isaac’s bestselling book, the series stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Uber CEO Travis Kalanick, alongside Kill Bill star Uma Thurman as Arianna Huffington and Friday Night Lights star Kyle Chandler as Bill Gurley. Developed by Billions co-creators, Brian Koppelman and David Levien, the upcoming series will follow the rise of the ride-sharing company and Kalanick’s involvement.
Now, according to Deadline, Tarantino is set to narrate the first installment of Showtime’s anthology series, Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber. This will reunite Thurman and the two-time Oscar-winning filmmaker for the first time since working on the Kill Bill franchise. This news comes shortly after ViacomCBS’s investor day press announcement of ordering the renewal of the Super Pumped for season 2, which will focus on the rise of Facebook, following the business relationship of COO Sheryl Sandberg and CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
Although known for his titular works in Hollywood, the American film director is also no stranger to voice-overs in the industry, as he previously leveraged his voice in his own films for Once Upon A Time In… Hollywood and The Hateful Eight. Despite the announcement of the second installment, further details as to whether Tarantino will continue to narrate the anthology series have not been disclosed. Super Pumped: The Battle of Uber premieres on Sunday, February 27 on Showtime.
