Pokémon Legends: Arceus – How To Find (& Catch) Rowlet

Rowlet is a Grass- and Flying-type starter option in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, but players will gain the ability to find and catch more Rowlet as well.

In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Rowlet is the Grass- and Flying-type starter option that players can choose, and they can find and catch Rowlet much later in the game as well. Rowlet’s dual-typing gives it the advantage over many types of Pokémon commonly seen at the beginning of most Pokémon games, such as Bug-, Water-, and other Grass-types. Although it’ll be sometime before a new Rowlet is seen, players can find and catch all starter Pokémon once they beat and complete the Pokémon Legends: Arceus story.

If players opted for Cyndaquil or Oshawott as their starter Pokémon choice instead of Rowlet, they can receive a Rowlet from Professor Laventon after the main story has been completed. As players may have seen throughout their journey, the remaining starter Pokémon were left behind in Professor Laventon’s office. Therefore, once players are finished with the main story, they can visit Professor Laventon in his office to receive the other two starter Pokémon as well. Like the original starter choice, the remaining two gifted Pokémon will be at level five.

While most Pokédex research for Rowlet can be completed from the single Rowlet Professor Laventon gives to players, they’ll need to catch a total of five Rowlet to complete the entry. This is because Rowlet does not have a natural habitat in the Hisui region, but it can still be found in the wild thanks to Space-Time Distortion in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Unfortunately, finding a Rowlet in a Space-Time Distortion is rare, and they’ll only spawn in one location in the Hisui region.

Players can only find and catch Rowlet in the Space-Time Distortion zones located in the Coronet Highlands. Not every Space-Time Distortion event will have Rowlet spawn, but when they do, multiple will spawn simultaneously. This should give players enough opportunity to catch all of the Rowlet they need to fulfill the Pokédex request. Additionally, they may even be able to find Dartrix and Hisuian Decidueye in these Space-Time Distortions as well. Furthermore, any ongoing outbreaks in Coronet Highlands will make Space-Time Distortions less likely to happen.

Since Pokémon Legends: Arceus doesn’t allow players to breed their Pokémon, Rowlet will have to be captured, specifically, in order to complete its Pokédex entry. Fortunate players may even stumble across an Alpha Rowlet in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, or an Alpha of Dartrix or Hisuian Decidueye. However, finding an Alpha Rowlet, or any of its evolutions, will be more difficult than finding a regular Rowlet, as the spawn chances are extremely rare. Nonetheless, players can find and capture Rowlet in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, no matter how long it takes to spot them.
