Finneon is a Water-type Pokémon that only appears in one location in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and players will need to catch one to complete a quest.
Unlike most Pokémon, Finneon can only be caught in one location in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and players will need to progress through the main story in order to find it. Finneon is only found in the Seagrass Haven subregion of Cobalt Coastlands. After unlocking Cobalt Coastlands, a request will become available from Netta called, “Double the Tails, Double the Fun.” Request 50 can only be completed if players find and catch a Finneon and bring it back to Netta who is standing just outside the Pastures in Jubilife Village.
In order to find Finneon, players will need to unlock the Basulegion ride in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Using the Basulegion mount is the only way to reach Seagrass Haven where Finneon is located. Basculegion is automatically unlocked as part of the main story “The Lordless Land” quest. After arriving in Cobalt Coastlands, players will need to help Iscan make food for Basulegion by catching a Dusclops in Deadwood at night. A cutscene will play after returning to the shore, then Basculegion can then be used to get across the water.
Seagrass Haven is in the northeastern portion of Cobalt Coastlands just south of Firespit Island. Using Basculegion, players can quickly get to Seagrass Haven and start searching for Finneon. Since Finneon is a Water-type Pokémon, it will take more damage from Grass- and Electric-types. However, Finneon is non-aggressive, so players will likely be able to catch it just by chasing it down and throwing a Poké Ball.
Catching Finneon and Completing Request 50 in Pokémon Legends: Arceus
Although Finneon can be caught without battling, it can be hard to spot and even harder to aim for. Finneon will periodically go underwater and won’t be visible for a short time, similar to most Pokémon found in the waters of Cobalt Coastlands in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Since aiming can be difficult from Basculegion’s back, it may be easier to start a battle with Finneon and throw a Poké Ball just after the fight starts. Players are likely to catch Finneon right away without having to drain its health.
After catching one or multiple Finneon, players can return to Jubilife Village to complete the “Double the Tails, Double the Fun” request. Netta will be in the same spot outside the fence for the Jubilife Village Pastures, and a short cutscene will play after delivering Finneon to her. As a reward, Netta will give players one Star Piece for finding and showing her Finneon.
Along with completing Request 50 in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, players will need to catch multiple Finneon to complete its Pokédex entry. Catching Finneon is also the easiest way to obtain Lumineon. Finneon can be evolved when it reaches a high enough level and doesn’t have any additional evolutionary requirements. However, Lumineon can also be found in the wild in regular and Alpha form. Finneon is one of the more rare Pokémon that players can find and catch in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
Pokémon Legends: Arceus is available for Nintendo Switch.
