Avalanche in Arunachal’s Kameng area: Mortal stays of seven Military jawans despatched to native locations

Tezpur (Assam), Feb 13: The mortal stays of seven Military jawans not too long ago killed in an avalanche in Arunachal Pradesh had been despatched to their respective native locations from Tezpur Air Power Station in Assam’s Sonitpur district on Saturday.

Common Officer Commanding, Gajraj Corps, Lieutenant Common Ravin Khosla and different senior officers paid their final respects in a wreath-laying ceremony, an Military spokesperson stated.

After the ceremony, the our bodies had been despatched to the jawans’ native locations in Akhnoor, Kathua and Khour in Jammu and Kashmir, Batala and Dharkalan in Punjab and Bajinath, Kangra and Ghamarwin in Himachal Pradesh, he stated.

Havaldar Jugal Kishore, Gunner (TA) Gurbaj Singh, and Riflemen Arun Kattal, Akshay Pathania, Vishal Sharma, Rakesh Singh and Ankesh Bhardwaj had been a part of a patrol that was struck by an avalanche in a high-altitude space in Kameng sector of Arunachal Pradesh on February 6.

Search and rescue operations had been launched instantly.

Rescue groups recovered the our bodies at an altitude of 14,500 toes above sea degree on February 8.
